Great spot. I had the big boy meat combo, which consisted of pulled pork, beef brisket, a half rack of ribs, a half of chicken, and 2 sides. Some are sauced with eastern, more vinegar based flavor, and others with Lexington style sweeter tomato based sauce. The portion was hefty, but inexpensive for how much food was given. It wasn’t too busy so the service was extra attentive. A terrific option for traditional North Carolina style BBQ.

Went for work event. The staff hadn’t even set out our plates until 15 minutes after event started. Then when they did set up they skipped a whole table with the silverware. The dessert was watery and I’m not exactly sure why, but that made it not so appealing. We valeted our car and when it was time to go there were only 2 people running valet so there were a good 20 people waiting in the cold for their cars. We didn’t want to wait in line and decided to pick our keys up and walk to get our car, only to be told that they didn’t even know which lot they had parked it in and we would just have to go find it. Overheard some of the people in our group say they had trouble locating their cars as well. Definitely not a good well organized location. Not to mention these “lots” were so dark you could very easily be mugged or have your car vandalized. Will not be coming back again.

Love it! Best BBQ I’ve had in a long time. Quick, but not suspiciously quick. Servers are always really nice and attentive. Upstairs dining room is beautiful. I like the space so much my fiance and I plan to host our wedding there this summer.

I ordered the double combo to go for lunch. I chose smoked brisket and fried chicken with sweet potato fries and mac and cheese. If anyone has ever told you that The Pit severs some of the best smoked and bbq meats around they were not lying to you. As I said I ordered to go so all I had was plastic utensils to use. No problem. I cut the brisket with a plastic fork and knife with not problem. The fried chicken was not overly crunchy but is was extremely flavorful and juicy. The Pit is definitely a must try.

A lot of people talked up this place but I thought it was OK. The pork was really spicy (pepper flakes added) and the sauces all tasted like vinegar. But I loved the mac and mashed potatoes!
