This is an excellent restaurant for fresh, local fare. We went at lunch for a meeting and when we first got there it was empty but by the time we left it was packed! The food was fresh, flavorful and clean; and the first comment around the table was how good everything smelled. I had the kale salad with grilled chicken. It was well-balanced and light, but filling. Highly recommend! I need to go for drinks and dinner. The ambiance was great!

Those who ordered Fish and Chips said they were good. I had to send the scallops back – NOT wood-fired, overcooked broccoli, dry cold mashed potatoes. It should never have come out of the kitchen. (First time in my life I ever sent anything back.) They did replace it with a trout special which was deliciousness, and sent us a dessert to share.

The wings were amazing. The rest of the food was just okay. I had a sirloin steak and honestly the steak at outback was more flavorful and cooked to what I ordered.

It is a decent restaurant but not a standout compared to others in Durham.

Our waitstaff was tremendous and was extremely friendly.

I’ve lived in this area for a long time but never visited until this year’s Triangle Restaurant Week. If you have never visited this little place, you’re missing out. The food is very flavorful and the portions are a decent . We ordered the Pork Shank and the Grilled Sirloin which were both amazing, these both came with mashed potatoes. The pork came with string beans which were decent and the sirloin came with collard greens which in my opinion were not very good, too much vinegar and not warm(more like a side salad than collard greens). I would sub out that side for something else. The She Crab soup is AMAZING, so order one as an appetizer! The customer service was fantastic and the server really knew the menu and was able to make great suggestions. Overall this place is a win, it’s moderately priced and it’s very quiet so it’s great for a date night.

I have to give H18 a 3 of 5. I visited twice in the past month (Jan 2019).

The food on my first brunch visit came out extremely well cooked kudos to chef and server was phenomenal.

This experience left me so excited I decided, why not dinner with company?

My second visit was subpar the waitress was, inattentive, and the food was served lukewarm.

My take away is consistency across all staff and H18 is off to the races.
