i am a black woman who was accompanied by another black woman and a white woman. we are all mid 20’s. to start, service was ok. the one cocktail i ordered, the bartender started making and then realized they didn’t have one of the ingredients. i agreed with him to use ginger ale instead. my second drink was draft and was very flat. this same bartender acted prejudice the longer we stayed there and gave off a vibe as if he was annoyed . shortly after we all noticed the energy, 2 white guys came in and joined another man sitting at the bar a few seats down from us. they spoke and then went to the outdoor area. we go outside to catch air and one of the guys tells the others to come inside with him. we go back inside to finish our drinks and the same guy walks out again. we go to leave—my white female friend lead the way as he held the door for her and bumped the two of us black women trying to avoid holding the door for us. we acknowledged the situation and left. from the bartender to the regulars, we will not be attending this bar again.

Great little pub in the heart of Durham. Rachel the bartender is a great bartender and always makes tasty drinks! Highly recommend

I am always on the lookout for a dark Irish pub and Joyce hits that mark. The pub food is great. Drinks are reasonably priced. Bartenders are affable. It’s hard to go wrong.
